Pop Chalee Hostess at Party for Palestine Artists
Mrs. Marina Lujan Hopkins (Pop Chalee) and Mrs. Helen Speaker entertained Saturday night with a party in honor of Mr. Lilik Schatz and Miss Zahara Schatz, two artists from Palestine who are spending some time in Santa Fe while on a U. S. tour.
The entertainment was varied with Pop Chalee singing Indian songs and accompanying herself on a Taos drum and the entire group dancing the Circle and other Indian dances. Howard Coluzzi, with the aid of his marvelously-made masks, gave some famed impersonations, the one of Dorothy Lamour being particularly appreciated.
Those attending were Mr. Schatz, Miss Schatz, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Butcher, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lowe, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Merchant, Mrs. Edwin Shields of Kansas City, Miss Muriel Challoner of Chicago, Miss Louise Crow, Larry Lawson of Hollywood. Seymour I. Hess, Jack Scher and Dr. Samuel Bernstein.
